Where does Punjab refer to?

Punjab Punjab means the region of the Five Rivers. According to the Hindi pronunciation, the name Punjab should be Banjab, which is Punjab. In the earliest days, Banjab (Punjab) was called Banguinad. When Akbar the Great changed the Sanskrit word “Nad” to the Persian word “Abu” according to Persian customs, so “Banguinad” became “Banjab”, which is Punjab. According to the records of the Rigveda, the original five rivers were the Shadru River (now the Sadrudi River), the Vibasha River (now the Vauyas River), the Iravodi River (now the Rawai River), the Kindrapaja River (now the Genab River), and the Videstar River (now the Cheram River). Punjab is one of the most developed agricultural rich states in India and is known as the “Indian granary”. It is rich in wheat, rice and cotton. The main industries are textiles, silk, bicycles, fertilizers, sugar, flour processing, and automobiles.

Indian custom of biting ears?

In India, the ear-biting custom usually refers to a traditional custom at weddings called Joota Chupai (shoe hiding). This custom originated in the Punjab region and has now been adopted by weddings in many North Indian regions. In this custom, the groom’s shoes are secretly hidden by the bride or her sisters and friends during the wedding ceremony.

At some point during the wedding ceremony, the groom has to retrieve his shoes, while the bride and her friends try to stop him. The groom usually needs to bribe or complete certain tasks to retrieve the shoes. The game is full of laughter and fun, while also adding to the interactivity and entertainment of the wedding.

The meaning behind this custom is not just a game, it also symbolizes the groom’s respect and love for the bride. The groom must humbly ask the bride to help him retrieve his shoes, which shows his willingness to put down his dignity and face for the sake of his wife. At the same time, this custom also symbolizes the bride and her family’s welcome and acceptance of the groom in their new life.

Overall, the custom of biting ears is a symbolic and joyous traditional part of Indian weddings, which reflects the importance of marriage and respect for the family in Indian culture.
