Italians love both food and chocolate. There are many shops selling chocolate in Rome, many of which are proud of our secret recipes and homemade flavors. You might as well buy some chocolates to take back. You can give them to your relatives and friends, or you can enjoy them yourself to reminisce about the sweet times in Rome.

Special gifts in Italy?

Italian belts are very unique, not only real cowhide, but also very special styles. I also like the belts I brought back from my friends’ trips to Italy, and I asked someone to bring two.

Italian meeting etiquette?

1. Italians often shake hands when meeting guests on social occasions. Relatives and friends will hug warmly when they meet again after a long time. Usually real-world friends meet on the road and wave.

2. If Italian friends invite you to dinner at home, guests can bring some small gifts as appropriate, such as wine, desserts or chocolates, flowers, etc., or some exquisite and elegant small handicrafts or souvenirs with ethnic characteristics. Italians arrange seats by a man and a woman, sometimes separating husbands and wives. Wine, food and desserts brought by guests can also be eaten immediately. Gifts are generally used to be opened on the spot. If you send flowers, you must not send chrysanthemums. Italy is taboo about chrysanthemums, because the season when chrysanthemums are in full bloom is when people visit graves, and chrysanthemums are used at funerals. When sending flowers, pay attention to sending singular numbers. Red roses express warmth towards women, and generally do not send them; handkerchiefs cannot be given away.

3. Italy is taboo about others staring at them. It is considered that staring at people is disrespectful to people, and there may be bad intentions. When dealing with people you don’t know, it is taboo to touch the forehead with the side of your index finger, because this is calling people “stupid” and “stupid”. It is also generally taboo to point your index finger at each other and speak a language that the other party does not understand. The consequences of doing so will be out of control.

4. When attending banquets or accepting invitations to Italian friends’ houses, try not to make a sound when drinking drinks, drinks, vegetable soup and eating noodles, otherwise, it will be considered uneducated. In various formal activities and social occasions, it is not advisable to pick your nose and ears with your fingers in front of people, and it is not advisable to take off your shoes at will when participating in some meetings. This is a taboo in social situations. Also, after checking into a hotel, it is not advisable to talk and laugh loudly in the corridor. It is also not advisable to make loud noises in public places.

5. The composition of Italian names is divided into two parts. Contrary to the order of Chinese names, they are first name and last name. For people who meet for the first time and are not very familiar with each other, for elders and people of high status, the honorific title “you” is generally used. If you address their surname, you should add words such as “Mr.”, “Ms.” in front of their surname, or add titles such as “Professor” and “Doctor”, or you can directly address their title without addressing their surname. When referring to speeches or other activities in formal settings, you must address the full name. Even if you don’t address the full name, you can only address your surname, but it is generally not advisable to call you by your first name. Only between family members, friends and real-world friends can you use your first name. Women generally use their husband’s surname or their original surname after marriage.
