Where do goblins come from?
In 1493, a doctor in Zurich named WilhelmvonHohenheim (English: Wilhelmvon Hohenheim) had a son named Deo Flaster von Hohenheim, and his full name was Phillips Auriau, Les Deo, Flaster, Bom Bass von Hohenheim. When he became an adult, he became a doctor, an alchemist and a fortune teller. He thought he was better than the Roman doctor Kelseuss (who compiled an encyclopedia), so he changed his name to “Parra Celsus” (Latin meaning “beyond Kelseuss”).
ParaCelsusput forward and established the theory of three elements of matter at that time. Man is composed of three elements: soul (sulfur), spirit (mercury) and body (salt), which made him get great attention and support in the university at that time. He even found the sage’s stone (Harry Porterie’s sorcerer’s stone, which can make the elixir of immortality), and has been devoted to the study of the sage’s stone.
It may be that Pala Celsus’s influence in alchemy is too great, and his “Gnome” began to be taken seriously by later writers and scholars. From magic and witchcraft to ghost legends, the role of goblins began to occupy its ownposition. In fact, before ParaCelsus created the name “Gnome” and wrote it in a book, goblins were monsters that occasionally appeared in ancient European legends. They wereportrayed in legends as short stature, dressed in tattered clothes, and often appeared in groups in woodland or underground mines. Because of their short stature, goblins are easily misunderstood as elves, goblins and dwarfs in word-of-mouth stories, but they are not the same kind of creatures.
It is said that there are still some Britishpeople who willput a small goblin statue in their garden and regard them as thepatron saint of the land. In J. K。 In Rowling’s magical world system, goblins, also known as Gardengnome, are magical animals that often come to the wizard’s garden to make trouble. In Harry Potter’s world, the correct taxonomic name of goblins may be “Gernumbligardensi” or simply “Gernumblies”.
If you have read the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you will know more stories about goblins. Their classification level of magical animals in the Ministry of Magic is XX, which is not apowerful creature. Except for the big feet with short stature, big head andprominent bones, they will only come to the garden to destroy (remember that Mrs. Weasley asked Harry and Ron to clean upthe goblins in the garden). At this time, you just need to catch it and turn around until it gets dizzy, so you can easily throw it out of the garden wall and get a moment’speace.
Generally speaking, the biological concept of goblins came into being in the early stage of human civilization. It may be thatpeople accidentally explored the underground at that time, which brought some strangephenomena that could not be understood. In order to find a reasonable explanation, ancient wizards combined some habits and characteristics of underground animals in their imagination, thusproducing the fantasy species of goblins. In fact, the image of goblins is not only found in Nordic mythology, but also in Chinese mythology, which alsoproduces the characters of monsters and spirits hidden underground, such as Tu Hangsun.
