Fantastic Beasts: The Mystery of Dumbledore has finally revealed the dusty past between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and the identity of “The Silent” Credence has also been further revealed.
Only with Grindelwald once again fully retreated, it seems that the war between good and evil in the wizarding world will still have to wait for the last two installments of the “Fantastic Beasts” series to get a full picture.
Xiao Wan, who controls the details, has also sorted out 15 detailed eggs and foreshadowing in “Fantastic Beasts: The Mystery of Dumbledore”.
While taking these to the movies, let’s reminisce about the surprise JK Rowling left to fans.
The following contains spoilers. It is recommended to read after watching the movie
The Blood Alliance Bottle
The Blood Alliance Bottle is a crucial prop in the “Fantastic Beasts” series, and it is also the ultimate witness to the feud between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
In “Fantastic Beasts: The Sin of Grindelwald”, Dumbledore sees himself and Grindelwald standing together as teenagers in the Mirror of Erised, scratching wounds in the palms of his hands with his wands and holding them together to make this red bottle.
In this episode, Newt’s brother Theseus asks Dumbledore why he entered into a blood alliance with Grindelwald, and Dumbledore replies: “Love”. (There should be screams here!)
However, in the final battle of the second installment, Sniff steals the blood alliance bottle from Grindelwald’s arms and gives it to Dumbledore by Newt.
And we know that Dumbledore and Grindelwald had a big battle in 1945, and Dumbledore finally won. This shows that the blood alliance bottle had been broken before then.
As for how this most unbreakable spell is broken, Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Mysteries has the answer.
Jacob’s Illusion
The movie starts, the US economy is in recession, and Jacob’s bakery is also in dismal business.
Jacob, who is idle, hears the bell ring, walks out and finds his lover Queenie standing in the store, and the two hug tightly.
But soon the camera turns and we find that this is just Jacob’s imagination. At this moment, Queenie has been put under the command of the dark wizard Grindelwald.
In Jacob’s environment, Queenie is dressed exactly as she was when the two first met after the war in Fantastic Beasts Part 1.
Dumbledore’s Black Glove
After Newt and his team fail their first mission in Berlin, a black glove appears on the street to guide them to a certain place.
This magic glove belongs to Dumbledore, and in Fantastic Beasts: Sins of Grindelwald, he also uses this black glove to guide Newt to the rooftop to meet him.
Newt dances again
In order to rescue his brother Theseus from the scorpion-tailed beast’s lair, Newt and his brother danced the “scorpion-tailed dance” together: imitating the scorpion-tailed beast’s form, he raised his hands and walked with his buttocks twisting.
In “Fantastic Beasts Where to Find Theseus”, Newt danced a courtship dance to the poisonous horned beast in order to return the rut to the box.
Apparently this time the scorpion dance is even more cute – in the live connection of the premiere, Newt’s “Freckle” also said that the design of the dance has its own credit:
“I suggested to the dance teacher that I just twist my butt, and he suggested that I raise my hands above my head again”.
Golden Snitch Quidditch Competition
After Newt rescued his brother Theseus, the two arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry through the door key given by Dumbledore.
At this time, a golden snitch passed over their heads, followed by a student in a Gryffindor college costume and riding a broom.
Apparently there is an intense Quidditch match going on here, and the familiar classic scenes of the Harry Potter series are re-created.
Jacob Hogwarts
Jacob also came to Hogwarts under the leadership of magic professor Lali, and had breakfast with the students here.
So “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Mystery” gave birth to the first Muggle in the history of the wizarding world to enter Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
He also received a wand as a gift from Albus Dumbledore.
Jacob Kowalski is indeed the chosen melon!
Slytherin Roach Pile
Jacob, who comes to Hogwarts, gets a bag of treats from the children of Slytherin Academy.
Excited, he tries to share it with Newt, but Newt says, “I don’t like cockroach piles very much.”
So we learn that the treat he got was the famous tricky treat in the wizarding world, “Cockroach Pile”, which appeared in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”.
Think about it, how could Slytherin students be so friendly to a Muggle? They still pursue pure-blooded wizarding academies until the Harry Potter era.
“Hufflepuff plus three points”
When Dumbledore drew the location of the general election, Newt answered the location “Bhutan” for the first time, and Dumbledore happily said “Hufflepuff plus three points”.
This is the tradition of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: every year there is a credit competition between the colleges, and the college with the highest credit will be awarded the Academy Cup.
In “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, Gryffindor Academy once reversed its defeat due to the brave performance of the protagonist, changing the decoration of the school auditorium from the green of the Snake Academy to the fiery red of the Lion Academy.
Fantastic Beasts 3, also known as Fantastic Beasts: The Mystery of Dumbledore, is a fantasy adventure film produced by Warner Bros., directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, and Max Mikkelsen.
The film is set around 1930 and tells the story of Dumbledore, who realizes that the powerful dark wizard Grindelwald is trying to seize control of the wizarding world, and commissions Magical Zoologist Newt to lead a sophisticated team on a dangerous mission against Grindelwald, who will also encounter new and old magical animals.
